I really love this place because they truly make good quality sushi. I miss NYC sushi and they are the best I have found so far. The only negative thing I can say is that they are kind of expensive. My favorite item on the menu is the Seafood Udon soup. Love, love, love!

I've tried other Thai in the area (Lemongrass and Thai Spice) and this place has the best tasting Thai dishes. The Tom Kai soup, pad Thai and Pad Woonsen and delicious. I come here once a month and it's consistently great. The ambiance isn't as nice as the others but the food is the best.

We ordered delivery we like in a condo which is 80% of the places around the restaurant. Well the delivery guy only would deliver the for to the front of the building. The sushi is good it's not great and if you have to run down to get your food we'll be ordering somewhere else.

I love Asian cuisine and frequent restaurants in this genre, this is the best thai Restaurant in the area. Is not elegant or beautiful but the food is great. I specially like the pad thai, but I have tried at least 6 other plates and they are great as well. Most other thai restaurants in the area are not as good and are often more expensive. Recommended.. Go now.

This place is getting worse, must have changed the chef

The location is somewhat odd considering the strip club right behind it. The Thai is pretty good but the sushi sucks. By 'sucks' I mean truly awful. The spicy tuna was a regular tuna roll drenched in a spicy sauce and it was definitely old. So if you're going for Thai I'd say go for it, sushi- not so much.

Yelper Colleen probably best described the outward appearance of Siam Kitchen Sushi & Thai as being somewhat "shady." It is located in a small aged strip mall that appears in need of some updating or tear, then is within close proximity of an adult entertainment centers (read strip joint) locally reputed to be frequented by various "ladies of the night," call girls and the nefarious. But, don't let that fool you. It's safe and when you enter, you'll note everything to be sparkling clean with one of the most polite, helpful and accommodating wait staffs one could wish for. There are plenty of well-set tables, dinning booths and a counter type sushi bar, which is in fact somewhat deceiving in that the place is in fact considerably bigger inside than it appears to be from the outside. The menu of Siam Kitchen is one of the most extensive around, going on for several pages, covering just about every aspect of sushi, sashimi, Thai and various other Asian food offerings. I've eaten here on several occasions and have generally been pleased, even though I can't really equate anything with top end. On my most recent visit I had their "Tuna Empire" which consisted of what appeared to me to be akin to a yellow fin tuna roll, battered, deep fried, and topped with a chopped tuna, Japanese butter flakes, sesame oil, and avocado. Though the menu mentions it to also be with flying fish egg, it could have had them included but if it did, I failed to notice but should have because they are generally of a bright red coral like. I also had their cold seafood appetizer with conch, octopus, crab (read as being artificial or kamaboko), fish and other ingredients over a bed of nicely prepared cucumber in a rice vinegar dressing. One thing about Siam Kitchen is that the prices are reasonable, even having various wallet saving lunch offerings. Overall, I'd peg it as a solid three stars plus and a general value for the dollar.

For $45 I was far from impressed. We've ordered from here multiple times and it's always decent but this time they dropped the ball big time. The wonton in the wonton soup had been in the broth so long they basically became mush in the soup with ball of pork floating around that use to be inside the soup. The special fried rice that was 17.99 plus tax had 2 shrimp in it? The chicken udon was bland and over priced. Could have got the PHO from Basilic for the same price but wayyyyy better. Overall a waste of money.

Trying to find a place that would serve dinner on a Sunday past 10, our options were becoming slimmer by the minute. My friend wanted to go to Lemongrass Thai, but they were closed, and pretty much every other restaurant along the way was closed as well. We finally stumbled across this place. I must say, I thought my friend was taking me to Solid Gold, the strip club right next door. I chuckled as he pretended to pull into their entrance and quickly pulled right toward Siam Kitchen. As we entered, I noticed a bit of a musty smell, but I credited it to the fact that the place had carpet. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. I was a bit overwhelmed with the menu but settled on chicken yakisoba. I cannot recall what my friend got. The food was brought out quickly, and we had to deal with listening to an obnoxious couple throughout our meal, in addition to the dull soundtrack in the background. While portions here are pretty hefty, the taste is not otherworldly. I definitely have had better. The chicken did not have much flavor, it tasted like boiled chicken. There was a decent amount of veggies in the food, and the food was so filling I had plenty for tonight's dinner left over, however. All in all, Siam Kitchen's food is okay and the prices are quite reasonable. If you want great Japanese or Thai food, look elsewhere, there are plenty of options in Broward county, but if it's late at night, this definitely beats McDonald's or any other fast food joint.

I pass by this place a few times a week and finally decided to stop by for a quick lunch. The staff was very friendly when I walked in and happily showed me to my table, but my actual server was quiet and didn't "check on me" at all once I received my food... I'm still waiting for more water... The menu is pretty extensive and their lunch specials are very reasonably priced. I decided to go with the Sushi/Roll/Sashimi/Sunomono combo. The salad it came with was pretty good, had a tasty ginger dressing, and was a pretty good size. The main course was served in a bento box and was artistically garnished, but unfortunately that's where the praise stops. The sushi rice that was on the roll and sushi was mushy and flavorless. The Sunomono was very chewy... I ended up leaving half of the seafood portion and just ate all of the veggies... The sashimi was warm and I question the freshness... check on me tomorrow to see how "fresh" it was. Many of the other reviews praise the non-sushi dishes, so maybe I should have ordered one of those - but I doubt I'll eat here again to give those a try.

It is always pretty much empty of customers there, not sure why because the food is delicious... They do need to work on their Fish Tank (1/2 a tank of Green Water...) Not appealing to the eye if you're going to be a new customer., but again the food is Delicious.

Location is a bit sketchy, since Siam Kitchen is located next to a smoke shop, strip club and other less than kid-friendly spots. To that point, the strip club and shops are located across from an AMC theater and Ross, so this might be more of a city planning fault. The decor is nice, not too fancy but definitely not trashy. Parking is quite limited, although there were no customers at the time I ate (7 pm, Monday). Ordered a California roll, Pad Thai, pad see ew and pad kee Mao. Overall good quality was a small cut above typical Thai fare, but prices are a little higher than I would have liked. Service is about average; order was messed up but corrected quickly. Honestly, if Siam Kitchen was located on the other side of highway 1, it would probably see more business. So long as you are fine with being close to the other shops, bringing kids are fine.

Siam Kitchen Sushi Thai is a great place for Sushi or Thai food. The lunch menu is affordable and comes with a small soup and a spring roll with sweet sauce. My favorite dishes here are: Cashew nuts and Massaman Curry, I always add fried tofu, it taste so good. Don't forget to ask for the "prik nam pla" sauce, it's very tasty. Friendly stuff, it's always a nice place to eat Asian Food.

Was disappointed in their curries (had green and panang), you can tell that they don't make their own curry pastes. Pad Thai wasn't great either. If you are looking for authentic I would look elsewhere.

Curiously, this restaurant, located on Oakland Park and Federal across Target, offers ten pages of Japanese fare but seven pages of Thai dishes. As a sushi snob, I simply refuse to eat raw fish not prepared by a Japanese chef, unless it is at a high-end restaurant or by a reputable proprietor whom I know personally, such as the Miami-based Chef B, whom I cannot praise enough. Anyway, back to Siam Kitchen. The service at this place was prompt and very friendly, although on a drizzly Thursday evening about 730, only three customers were present when I walked in. The décor was 90s contemporary, with 80s soft rock music in the background. While the two dishes I tried, spring rolls ($4.95) and pad kee mao with steamed tofu ($11.95), would satisfy most palates, personally I wish the rolls had been a bit crispier and the noodles, more al dente. My entrée was much spicier than what I am used to even though I asked for medium, so go easy on your picante level if you dine here. By the way, why does Thai food cost more in South Florida than in New York City and California? Can a couple bucks be knocked off if I forgo the orchids and other garnishes? That said, their lunch specials aren't too bad. When I was last here, it cost me $7.95 for the same noodle dish and it came with a spring roll and steamed rice.

I am so disappointed that I have write this review to warn others that this may not be a good choice. I understand that we are human. We make mistakes, and it's how you respond to a mistake that will make it ok. I ordered a meal and asked for it to be hot. The menu offered different options as to how spicy you want it. The girl who took my order looked at me as if I was from another planet when I asked for it hot. I showed her on the menu so she could see what I was referring to. She responded as if she knew what I wanted, and even made a comment that I was ordering super spicy. That's the way I like it, spicy. When my meal arrived it looked like a rather small portion, and it also looked very plain, no spice color. Not the first time I ordered Pad-Tai. It was the worst, plainest tasting Pad-Tai I ever ordered in my life. After waiting 10 minutes I chased down the server and told her it had no flavor, and it had zero spice. After I returned to the table she showed up with a jar of crushed red peppers. I told her that I ordered spicy and I would appreciate if she could take it back and fix it. The server offered a different spice instead. Really? For a $15.00 crappie portion of noodles you can't take it back and fix it? I used to be in the business, all I ask for is I get it the way I ordered it, and if it isn't right, please take back and make right. I don't think I was asking too much. I refused to eat it, but she still charged me for it. It was a cheap lesson in letting me know that there are many, many restaurants in the area that would like my business. This place has definitely been scratched of my list. I suggest you find another place to eat...:(

First time stopping for Thai at this establishment that has been up and running for twelve years. Maybe I had been judging this book by its cover, and my visit reminded why it is not wise to do so. Friendly service and the dining areas are cozy, modern, and welcoming. The menu is an extensive Thai and Japanese duo. I ordered some favorites: mixed seafood appetizer (crab, octopus, conch, shrimp mixed with cucumbers), a seaweed salad (standard fare and generous portion size), and Panang Curry with chicken. The seafood appetizer was fresh and delicious, a nice serving that could have almost been a meal itself or perfect for sharing with another. The Panang Curry was prepared to a medium spice, which had a nice zing but I could have gone hotter. It contained green beans which confused me at first but as I got acclimated to bites of coconut milk, curry herbys, and chicken slices, it was quite clearly delicious. I will be ordering from this place again soon. It's now open until midnight on Friday and Saturday, so that makes it more convenient to eat late and great. Try this Thai!

When I moved to Fort Lauderdale I was on a mission to find a Thai Restaurant as good as the one in my previous home town of Naples, FL. When I tried Siam Kitchen, I fell head over heels for their food. Little did I know, the owner of Siam Kitchen is the sister of my previous restaurants owner. Go figure. I might be partial to this families food, but the proof is in the pudding. Their Sushi, Thai and Japanese dishes are made with fresh vegetables, meats and spices. Their milky saki is excellent and everything is reasonably priced. The quality of food is excellent. And the portion sizes are great.

We come from the land of excessive Asian cuisine, Seattle. Being in South Florida, I'm finding it's the opposite here, slim pickings. We've eaten at one other Thai establishment, and I can say Siam's phad thai is superior to the other place we tried. Good flavor, lots of meat, not too oily. We also ordered the Special Fried Rice. I was a little disappointed given how special it really wasn't. Its supposed to include chicken, pork and shrimp. It was mostly chicken, a few bits of pork and two shrimp (and one random shrimp tail) It tasted good, but lacked the "special" part. I'd stick with just the single protein options. We also tried the Thai Kiss dumplings (pork & shrimp). We also requested sides of peanut sauce, I'm always curious about the peanut sauce at places, and Siam's was pretty good. Overall, the delivery was fast, the food came hot, we ate just about all that we ordered, it is a little more expensive than I think it warranted but it's actually priced similarly to the other joints in town.

This place is small but packs a big punch. I love their lunch specials. I usually take out my food here, but I would imagine it would be a nice place to have a casual date. Noise level is at a good level, and the servers are pretty friendly. Try the curries.

Great deliver service to the hospital! Sushi was fresh and tasty. The soup was piping hot and right on target. The pad thai had just enough peanut sauce and not too many added items to make the plate crowed. It was a bit pricy, but totally worth it. Check it out sometime, lunch or dinner!

During several runs to Barnes & Noble from where I work I've noticed this place. So I decided to make the drive back up after work with my boyfriend. I love sushi but he only digs Thai, so finding places that serve both types of cuisine is always a plus for us. We dined here on a Friday night around 9pm and it was pretty empty, with maybe 3 other parties inside. As Ana pointed out, it is within feet of strip clubs, so if you're a little skeptical about it's location - don't be! The ambiance is really cozy and serene, and the orchids at each table were a lovely addition. We were pretty hungry so we ordered the Nam Sod Thai appetizer. It was delicious - very gingery. Bf ordered the Volcano Chicken and raved about it. I had two sushi rolls; Pascale Roll and the Tanzana Roll. Both were point on, and the service was just as good as the food. Needless to say we left Siam Kitchen stuffed and completely satisfied. By far one of the best places we've been to since living a little further south. Knowing how great this place is makes me definitely want to come back during the week and check out their lunch menu/specials.

First time eating at Siam Kitchen. Favorably impressed. Read the other sensibly written reviews for the details as they are accurate. Like they did, I thought it looked a bit cheesy outside, but once inside it's a classy restaurant. I started off with Thai iced tea which is a creamy tea with understated sweetness and fresh Spring rolls that came with peanut sauce and some sort of clear sauce that had red bits in it (plum sauce?) that added an interesting flavor, but no real heat. For my entree I had "T30" scallops with masaman curry. The photo in the menu of a similar dish showed a platter so I wasn't expecting what came as a wonderful bowl of soup with all the components nicely arranged in it. Potatoes, cashews, and little strips of avocado with scallops around the perimeter in a curry soup that had a perfect balance of sweet and spicy. It also came with the ubiquitous plate of sticky white rice. I ordered medium spicy which I guess is tame for the round eye; if you like yours with more kick they have "hot" and "Thai hot". I found the portions just right even though I was pretty hungry and the flavors balanced well. I probably could have taken a bit more heat, but there's a fine line with me when there's too much spice that it detracts from the overall flavor of the meal. I'll definitely be back. As a landmark, if you're heading south on Federal Hwy (U.S.1) it's in the little strip shopping center a block south of the blue Roselli building that houses a great Italian restaurant "Cafe Italia", another can't-miss place for risotto and great seafood dishes.

Ya know, I have to admit, this place looks a wee bit shady upon arrival - its located between two strip clubs, directly next door to a pawn shop and has a cheap look on the outside. However, if you get the guts to walk in, you will find a modern and sleek interior on the right of the restaurant and a casual sushi bar on the left. I have eaten here about 4-5 times and I have not had a bad experience yet. They are happy to make any substitutions or changes you'd like to make to any of their food items - including brown rice in your sushi rolls! - and do not give you any attitude about it. I usually go for their sushi which is quite fresh and several of my dining buddies have had their Thai selections and loved them. Their menu is HUGE!!! They have just about any kind of anything you would ever want in the Sushi/Thai world, they even have various types of noodles made with different things (egg, wheats, rice, etc) that you can swap in and out of any dish. The server I've had every time I have gone was a sweet young (and may I add cute!) guy who was very attentive and never let our drinks get too low or our table get too full with dirty plates. The prices are average - they seem a bit high for a place next to two strip clubs, but the quality of the food definitely makes up for it. Two quick notes: 1. They have an ADORABLE closed in type of private booth-style single table/room in the back that seems to fit about 10 people, perfect for a group outing. I would recommend calling in advance for this table, it is frequently taken. 2. Their wine selection leaves MUCH to be desired, its pretty much white, red or pink. Go for the beer or saki!

I'm not sure why the 1 and 2-star reviewers claim that there are better places to eat but don't recommend any while the 4 and 5-reviewers happen to be mostly all Yelp Elites. It must say something about this place: the food is good enough that people will wanna come back but they have their share of bad first impressions. Oh well, can't please everyone. Met up with a friend who lived in the area and recommended Siam Kitchen. I had a bit of trouble finding the location with GPS; luckily, it just happened to be in the next plaza down. The yellow curry was delicious, customer service was memorably pleasant, and the restaurant well decorated. If you like Asian-themed decor, anyways. For a date, business meeting, or special occasion, I'd go back to eat there.

I come here all the time and have been meaning to write a good review. Siam Kitchen is the best sushi place in Fort Lauderdale if not South Florida! It's simple, easy to locate (in a strip mall on N Federal Highway across from Coral Ridge) and the service is fast and friendly and the food is always made from quality products and is hot (unless it's a cold dish) and fresh. I love their soups, their curries, pad thais, chicken satay, and Mexican roll! The owner is so nice and hardworking I have a lot of respect for her. She can make a good recommendation or just engage you in some conversation. There are a lot of these types of places but this one really stands out!

Plenty of better Thai and sushi places around, it's not bad but I have had better in the area. Portions are small, service is average. Advice: do not go in the bathrooms: nasty. Oh and the elevator music almost made me cut my wrists

I stopped in last night before a show at the Culture Room. Not really too familiar with places to eat around there so we just drove around trying to find a decent place to grab some grub. We decided on this place when we saw it was located in a strip mall with 2 strip clubs, not knowing anything about the quality of their food...But we just found it funny we were eating amidst the neon lights of Solid Gold...Classy, i know... Anyhow, we were in the mood for Thai food so we ordered Thai Iced Tea, Papaya Salad, and Pad Thai... My friend also ordered fried rice...One word: TASTY! :) and the Pad Thai is up on my top 5 Best Pad Thai's I've eaten. They do a great job of eliciting Zen relaxation with their music and lighting and their service left nothing to be desired. Next time I'm going to try the sushi. If you're ever in the area to catch a concert at the Culture Room, make sure to come early and try this place out!

Had Thai food delivered tonight and it was just terrible. Wide noodles with tofu were greasy. Red curry seemed to be made with water rather than coconut milk and had stir-fried cucumbers in it. Minced chicken had a lime sauce so strong it was almost inedible. I'll certainly never eat here again.

  • Naomi K.

Yeah, I know, it's right by a big strip club, the decor is not quite super-chic, and the music isn't exactly hip. I couldn't care less. I lived in DC for a few years, where sushi and Thai places are a dime a dozen and cool presentation rarely equaled food that was more than mediocre. Therefore, my concerns with places like this are how good the food is and how good the service is. This place wins on both counts. I appreciate having a choice of Japanese/sushi and Thai here and the ability to mix and match. (A bowl of miso soup before my huge plate of pad kee mao? Yes please!) They rarely seem to be crowded, even on a Friday or Saturday night, but I can't imagine why. Maybe people are put off by it's slightly sketchy location, but they ought to give it a shot. My better half and I have dined here several times since moving to the area and have never been disappointed. Their pad kee mao, in fact, is some of the best that I've ever had. It's not nearly as oily as lots of other places I've ordered this standard dish, the meat is lean and tender, and the vegetables fresh, crisp, and perfectly cooked. The noodles are never too mushy and they offer you varying degrees of heat in its spiciness. The miso soup is about as good as I've had anywhere. My partner is very fond of the fried tofu appetizer and he orders it nearly every time we go there. What I've had of their sushi and sashimi was really good. High quality, fresh, and nicely presented with generous sides of ginger and wasabi. Their prices are pretty reasonable for the quality, and the service has been consistently polite, helpful, and extremely attentive without being overbearing. As a plus, they deliver too if you live in the area. The only downside to ordering delivery from them is that the driver has to do the old-fashioned rubbing-an-imprint-of-your-card bit, which is a very minor complaint. A bit odd, but not a huge inconvenience. I expect to visit them a lot more in the future.

Typical looking storefront Asian place just around the corner from where I live. The menu looked promising, especially for Thai dinners- duck, whole snapper, lobster. Went there, however for a quick lunch special. Took three bites of the ginger chicken, it was clearly days old, even spoiled. So disappointing I could have become a regular customer, and back for dinners if it had been freshly stir fried. I should have stopped at the first bite. Will never go back, and hope I don't become sick.

Very good Thai food. I alway get Yellow Curry when I go to a new place and judge that against my favorites. It was awesome. 6 people in our party and everyone loved it.

I ordered chicken curry. It was awful - totally rubbery, and the spices were not blended well. I was completely disappointed. There are so many better options for Thai food in Miami/ Fort Lauderdale, that I can't understand why anyone would come here.

I'm not really a huge fan of Thai food but this place has made me a believer. Don't be fooled by the outside. This place is much larger than what it looks like from the outside. I love all the Curry varieties but the Green Curry with Chicken is my favorite.
